S/E 005LP – Low Profile Roof Anchor

All exposed Safetor Anchors meet the requirements of the AS/NZS 1891.2:2001 Standard: Horizontal Lifeline and Rail Systems, and AS/NZS 1891.4:2009 Standard: Industrial Fall Arrest Systems and Devices.

Design

The S/E 005LP anchor is designed to be bolted to the purlin mounting brackets on steel structures behind the purlins. This Low Profile anchor can be used for fall-arrest, abseiling, and as an end anchor for lifelines. Manufactured from a 30mm Mild Steel bar with an overall height of 235mm. This anchor is best suited for roofing with a low profile. The mounting plate is manufactured from 10mm Mild Steel with slotted holes on either side of the main shaft for ease of adjustment.

Load Reduction

The Safetor S/E005LP anchor can reduce the loading on the structure to 3.8kN

Certification

The S/E 005 Anchor has been fully tested to the AS/NZS 1891.4:2009 Standards by Material & Testing Laboratories.

Applications as per AS/NZS 1891.4:200 Standards: Strength requirements for anchorages.

S/E 005LP

Ultimate Strength

  • End anchor for horizontal lifeline – 44kN
  • 1 Person – Free Fall Arrest – 15kN
  • 2 Person – Free Fall Arrest – 21kN
  • 1 Person – Limited Free Fall Arrest – 12kN

NB

1. Anchorage strength applicable when using restraint technique, is either 15kN or 12kN depending on whether the ultimate fall is free-fall or limited free-fall. 2.’Ultimate Strength’ means that the anchorage may yield at the stated load but must not fail.

Bolts

Bolts used on this anchor are 2 x M16mm construction bolts with 2 x 50mm x 50mm square washers.

Blasting

Profile blasted to remove all scale and grease etc.

Coatings

Plascoat PPA 571 ES is resistant to stress cracking, adverse weather conditions, detergents, salt spray and typical airborne pollutants. The coating maintains excellent adhesion to the metal substrate without the need for a separate primer. The material also provides good abrasion and impact resistance.

Installation

The installation should only to be carried out by a competent person as set out in the AS/NZS 1891.4:2009 Standards. Collins Corporation Ltd. provide a warranty on product performance of the anchor but not the structure. It is the responsibility of the installer, building designer, or building owner to ensure that the structure to which the anchor is attached will support a load of at least 15kN as set out in the AS/NZS 1891.4:2009 Standards. If there is any doubt about the structure’s adequacy, a structural engineer should be consulted.
